The Department of Information Technology has a major focus on computers and technology, It differs from a Computer Science degree in that students are also expected to study management and information science, and there are reduced requirements for mathematics. A degree in computer science can be expected to concentrate on the scientific aspects of computing, while a degree in information technology can be expected to concentrate on the business and communication applications of computing.

Eligibility

First year : B.TECH : 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST category   in the subject groups, without grace marks in 10+2 level. Second year (Lateral Entry) :B.Tech. : 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST category in aggregate in ( three years Diploma in Engineering course )  or ( three years B.Sc. degree plus having passed 10+2 exam with Mathematics as one subject ).

Eligibility

First year : MCA : 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST category in 3 year graduation with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or graduate level.
Second year (Lateral Entry) : MCA : 50% ( 45% for SC/ST) marks in 3 year BCA / B.Sc (IT/CS) and having mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or Graduation level.
